Liverpool fans mock Emre Can over Juventus disappointment

Liverpool fans are revelling in Emre Can’s latest comments, after the former Red revealed his disappointment with his current situation at Juventus.

It’s the cardinal sin in football – running down your contract to allow other teams to sign you for free, losing your current club a potentially hefty transfer fee and perhaps even increasing your wage packet in the progress.

Can swapped Merseyside for Turin in the summer of 2018, signing for the Serie A champions on a four-year deal.

He had made 167 appearances at Anfield, scoring 14 times, and got off to a good start at his new home too, playing 37 games last term, scoring four goals and winning a league title and domestic cup.

This season has been disappointing for the German though, as he has seen the pitch just three times in all competitions, amassing a mere 78 minutes on the pitch.

“I’m not happy right now. I don’t play much at the moment,” Can said.

“Last season I played a lot, especially in important games for Juventus. And I also played well there.

“I haven’t had a chance this season.”

He went on to say he believes he will play more after the international break, but that hasn’t stopped Reds from laughing at his current misfortune.
