Former Rangers midfielder Gennaro Gattuso thinks Filip Helander can be a big hit at Ibrox, as reported by The Daily Record.

What’s he said?

The former Italian international is famous for a long career at AC Milan, but he of course played for Rangers in the late 1990s before creating a legendary legacy in his homeland.

Most recently manager of the San Siro giants, he is well placed to give an insight into Helander, who the Gers are reported to be on the verge of signing.

Gattuso is a fan of the Swedish defender, believing him to be a potential bargain for the Ibrox side.

As quoted by The Daily Record, he said:

“I like this player. He has a good Scandinavian mentality and he’s not a bad defender. I heard today from Italy that the price is around 5m euros – and that’s a good price for him.

“Yes, it’s big money for Rangers but he’s a good player at that price when you consider the market at this moment. It’s incredible that some players are costing 50 or 55m euros. For 5m euros Rangers have done good business.

“People say he had a difficult last season in Serie A but for the first two or three months he actually played very well.

“He’ll be good for the team and the Scottish league. I’m not saying he’ll find it easy in Scotland because it’s not an easy league to play in.

“But he has the right mentality to be successful there. He is very focused, very determined. He is also the kind of player who likes to fight.”

It’s a strong endorsement from one of the great football fighters and battlers of the last 20 years and it appears fans can look forward to a committed player in the heart of the Gers defence if he completes his move.

Helander’s pedigree

The ten cap international has strong experience both in Swedish football and in Serie A, playing most of his football with Malmo and Bologna.

Given that lots of the arrivals at Rangers in recent years have been free transfers or loans, as Gattuso points out, it’s a potentially expensive outlay for the club but one which perhaps heralds a new era of spending at Ibrox.

He has a profile and pedigree that makes him one of the most ambitious signings at the club since their promotion to the Scottish top-flight.

With Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic also available, as well as George Edmundson, if Helander arrives then the centre-back area becomes one of the strongest positions in the squad in terms of quality and depth.

Will the move pay off when measured against the fee paid? Gattuso certainly seems to think so and that should be exciting for many fans.

وتحدث الوكيل السابق، كريم الجزيري، وقال في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية: “بنزيما سيسعد إذا شارك في أولمبياد طوكيو”.

وتابع: “من منا لا يريد المشاركة في الأولمبياد، إذا عرضوا عليه فسيذهب على الفور”.

الجدير بالذكر أن بنزيما متغيب عن المشاركات الدولية مع فرنسا منذ عام 2015، بعد تورطه في قضي ابتزاز لزميله ومواطنه، ماتيو فالبوينا، بفيديو جنسي.

يرى كايو ريبيرو نجم البرازيل السابق، أن مواطنه نيمار دا سيلفا، لاعب باريس سان جيرمان، أفضل من قائد برشلونة ليونيل ميسي، ونجم يوفنتوس كريستيانو رونالدو.

ريبيرو أشار إلى أن مهاجم باريس سان جيرمان هو الأفضل، ومع بلوغ ميسي ورونالدو الآن الثلاثينيات من العمر، فإن لدى نيمار البالغ من العمر 28 عامًا فرصة لتأسيس نفسه كقائد للعبة.

قال ريبيرو في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “ذا صن” البريطانية: “حتى لو كان نيمار لديه سلوك لا نتفق معه، أعتقد أنه لاعب محترف، حاليًا أفضل لاعب في العالم”.

وأضاف: “إنه يلعب المزيد من الكرات أكثر من كريستيانو رونالدو وميسي”.

According to The Evening Standard, Southampton will be happy to just recoup the £18m they paid for Mario Lemina if they are to sell him this summer, and that is a baffling decision for a number of reasons.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the 25-year-old has made it clear that he is keen for a move away from St Mary’s this summer, having joined from Juventus in 2017.

The Evening Standard report that Manchester United, Arsenal and Leicester City have all expressed an interest in a deal for the Gabon international, who they would need to pay at least £18m to secure.

Lemina has made 52 appearances in all competitions for the south coast outfit – scoring two goals and providing two assists – but he spent the majority of manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s reign so far on the sidelines with an abdominal injury.

When he did return towards the end of the 2018/19 campaign, he only started one of Saints’ final five Premier League fixtures.

Club’s confusing decision

In a day and age where transfer fees are going crazy, it seems mad that Southampton would seemingly be willing to accept just £18m for a player like Lemina.

He has played for the likes of Juventus – including an appearance in the 2017 Champions League final – and Marseille during his career, and outshone Paul Pogba in a 2-2 draw between Saints and the Red Devils at St Mary’s in December of last year, as you can see via WhoScored.

Having completed 55 of the 62 dribbles he attempted in 2017/18, and 23 out of 35 last term, it is clear how talented the African is on the ball. If he can find that consistency that was sorely lacking in red and white, he will be a real force to be reckoned with.

Additionally, Aston Villa have just signed a player one year older than Lemina in Tyrone Mings for an initial fee of £20m, which could rise to £26.5m with add-ons, even though he has only played 857 minutes of top flight football in his career.

Similarly, Bristol City are reportedly demanding £30m for centre-back Adam Webster – someone who has never played in the Premier League.

Taking all of these factors into consideration, Southampton are really under-selling themselves when it comes to their midfielder, and in reality they should be demanding a lot more money for his services.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left confused by a frankly ridiculous transfer rumour from El Confidencial.

They claim that Real Madrid could buy Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis in a deal worth €40m (£35.8m) plus Mariano.

That would then allow the club to bid for Spurs’ Christian Eriksen by offering the north London club the chance to take the Argentina international in part-exchange.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Lo Celso this summer as they look to bring in further transfers to a squad that has already been reinforced with both Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke.

Real, too, are said to be keen to sign Eriksen in this transfer window, with the Denmark international reportedly identified as an alternative to Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

But Spurs fans do not believe the rumour, insisting that it is genuinely ridiculous to think Real would sign a player, only to then move him on straight away.

Speaking to Football Insider, pundit Noel Whelan has revealed that Aston Villa need to sign someone like Tom Heaton before the transfer window closes.

What’s he said?

Villa have been in the market for a number of goalkeepers over the summer, bringing in no fewer than ten outfield players to Villa Park.

They’ve strengthened in essentially every area on the pitch besides between the sticks, a position Jed Steer did so well in towards the back end of last season, saving a penalty in the play-offs.

A bid for Neil Etheridge was rejected at the start of the window whilst moves for Jack Butland, Alex McCarthy and Mattia Perin have also been touted.

Yet, Heaton is another stopper to take their fancy. And speaking about a possible deal, Whelan appeared to be a big fan of him, detailing exactly why the Villans need to bring him in. He told Football Insider:

“Heaton would be perfect for Villa. He knows what the Premier League is all about, is proven at the highest level and showed when he got back in the Burnley side in the second half of last season he is a standout keeper.

“They need someone who is a good talker and communicator giving them instructions and providing them with reassurance. A top keeper is so important.”

Experience key

Although Heaton possesses a poor pass percentage of 46.2%, something that could get him into trouble if Dean Smith continues to play from the back, the reasons above certainly make it difficult to disagree with the fact he could add vital qualities to Villa.

Steer is someone who has no experience of playing in the Premier League and as they gear up for a return to the top-flight, they’ll be having to do far more defending than they’ve been used to in the Championship.

Therefore, having a vocal goalkeeper and a strong communicator behind defenders like Tyrone Mings could be massive for their chances.

The central defender is a big presence himself but of all the ‘keepers Villa have been linked with, Heaton possesses the greatest knowledge of what Smith’s men are about to embark on.

At the age of 33 he has 96 Premier League appearances under his belt, whereas Butland has only appeared 77 times in the top division.

Despite not necessarily being a fit for their playstyle, his know-how might well be key.

Former England international Rodney Marsh has had his say on Everton’s capture of Moise Kean from Juventus.

The 19-year-old forward signed for the Toffees in an initial £29m move from Juventus, and could end up costing the Merseysiders a total sum of £37m.

Along with the teenager, Marcel Brands has signed Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph, Jonas Lossl and Jean-Philippe Gbamin as the Toffees look to improve on last season’s 8th-place finish.

What did Marsh say?

The 74-year-old told talkSPORT: “I’ve got to tell you, Everton have signed one of the best young players around! I’ve seen him play for Italy, I’ve seen him play for Juventus, I saw his debut when he came on as a sub against Udinese and everytime I’ve seen him, he’s looked sensational.

“He’s lightning-quick, he’s a big boy, controls the ball, got lovely skills, can score goals. He can probably do a lot better than Everton. In three years time, he’s gonna be worth £100m. I think it’s a tremendous signing by Everton.”

Cannot disagree 

The deal to bring Kean to Goodison Park is quite simply one of the best pieces of business done this summer – it may even be arguably the best transfer of the window.

In this current climate, where other young stars such as Joao Felix – also 19 – are going for £113m, quite how Everton got a fully fledged international and a prolific goalscorer – Kean hit six goals in just five Serie A starts last term – for the price they did is difficult to believe.

Why weren’t other clubs in for him?

Why did Juventus cash in on their best young asset without a buyback clause?

What on earth were the Italian champions thinking?

Placing the Turin-based club’s foolishness aside, the Toffees have acted superbly in getting this deal over the line.

Marsh is spot on with his comments about the forward, and with the way this inflated market is going, Kean could easily fetch over £100m in a few years.

There are almost no negatives about this deal from an Everton viewpoint.

أضاف محمد شريف خلال مداخلة هاتفية عبر قناة أون تايم سبورت: “كان ترتيبي في تسديد ركلات الجزاء الخامس، يكون هناك رهبة بعض الشيء ولكن أسدد في المكان المفضل بالنسبة لي وأركز وأعمل كل ما علي ولو هناك نصيب ستدخل المرمى”.

وعن تعليمات موسيماني له قبل نزوله للمباراة، قال: “كنا مضغوطين في الشوط الثاني، طلب مني أنا أدافع مع محمد هاني ولو هناك إمكانية نلعب على الهجمة المرتدة”.

وتابع: “الأداء ليس مهم بالنسبة لنا في كأس العالم للأندية على قدر ما نريد تحقيق مركز جيد، ونتذكره بعد ذلك، وقت أن نفكر في المستقبل سوف نتذكر النتيجة والإنجاز الذي تحقق، كان مهم بالنسبة لنا أن نكون رجالا في الملعب ونحقق المركز الثالث”.

وبسؤاله ما هي اللحظات الصعبة التي مرت عليه في المباراة؟، قال: “أخر الوقت كان هناك ضغط علينا وكان وقت صعب بالنسبة لنا وكنا خائفين أن يدخل مرمانا هدف ويضيع كل مجهودنا”.

وواصل: “الذي يشارك لمدة دقيقة مثل الذي يلعب مباراة كاملة، أنك تكون متواجد في هذه البطولة شىء مشرف لك ويكتب لك أنك حصدت المركز الثالث”.

واستكمل: “إحساس لا يوصف أن هذا الإنجاز يتحقق لثاني مرة في تاريخ النادي، مر أجيال كثيرة جدًا على النادي، وأشعر بالفخر”.

وأردف: “كنا نشعر من أول البطولة كان هدفنا تحقيق شىء لم يتحقق من قبل، بعد مباراة بايرن ميونخ فكرنا أنه يجب أن نحقق المركز الثالث لأن النادي لم يحصده سوى مرة واحدة”.

وعن محمد الشناوي، حارس مرمى الأهلي، قال: “الشناوي حارس كبير وأفضل حارس مرمى في مصر وإفريقيا، وقبل اللقاء كان يتحدث معنا ويعطي لنا دفعة”.

وواصل: “لا أريد أن أقيم نفسي شاركت لدقائق قليلة ولكن شخصيًا غير راض عن أدائي في كأس العالم للأندية، لدي أفضل من ذلك ممكن الدقائق القليلة التي شاركت فيها فلم أخرج كل ما لدي، لا أخلق لنفسي عذر، اليوم حزين جدًا كان ممكن أكون أفضل من ذلك”.

وعن نجم للفريق في مباراة بالميراس، قال: “محمد الشناوي، وممكن ياسر إبراهيم نجم المباراة لأنه منذ فترة بعيد عن المشاركة”.

وأكمل: “بايرن ميونخ فريق أوروبا كلها تخاف منه وكنا نعمل له حساب ومباراة كانت صعبة جدًا، وكنا لن نحزن بأي نتيجة سنخرج بها، كان أهم شىء نؤدي كل ما علينا ونكون رجالا”.

واختتم: “مباراة بالميراس كانت أصعب وأهم من لقاء بايرن ميونخ بكثير”.
