Hooda combined for a fourth-wicket stand of 255 runs with Karan Lamba to lift Rajasthan from 23 for 3 as Karnataka fell to a six-wicket defeat

Deepak Hooda led a remarkable revival with a 128-ball 180 to take Rajasthan to their first Vijay Hazare Trophy final in 16 years, helping beat Karnataka by six wickets in Rajkot.Rajasthan were 23 for 3 chasing 283 when Hooda combined for a fourth-wicket stand of 255 runs with Karan Lamba and put up his career-best List A score.Electing to bat, Karnataka lost captain Mayank Agarwal for 13 in the sixth over. His opening partner R Samarth was the next to depart, for 8 off 21 balls in the ninth over. Nikin Jose and Krishnan Shrijith rebuilt the innings with a 46-run stand before left-arm spinner Ajay Singh struck to dismiss the former. Shrijith was sent back soon after by Rahul Chahar for 21, leaving Karnataka at 87 for 4.Abhinav Manohar, at No. 6, then injected life into Karnataka’s innings with an 80-ball 91, putting up partnerships of 89 and 95 with Manish Pandey and Manoj Bhandage respectively. He hit 10 fours and three sixes in his stay, taking Karnataka’s total to 282. He fell on the last ball off the innings, finishing with his highest List A score.In turn, Rajasthan lost both their openers for ducks in 1.2 overs, V Koushik and Vijaykumar Vyshak causing the damage for Karnataka with the new ball. Mahipal Lomror hit three fours in his 17-ball stay but was soon out to Bhandage. Lamba then joined Hooda at the crease.Hooda took his time to settle in, scoring his first boundary only off the 24th ball he faced. The duo soon started finding the boundaries and started piling on the runs, bringing up their 50-run stand in 62 balls. They pushed the total past 100 in the 22nd over, but at that time Rajasthan were still behind on the required run rate.Hooda brought up his half-century with a six in the same over, off 53 balls. He then started dealing in fours and sixes, taking only 32 balls to get to his century from then on. He brought up his ton with a boundary in the 30th over.Lamba, meanwhile, got to his half-century off 76 balls in the very next over. The duo by then had brought the equation down to 102 off 19 overs.Following his century, Hooda plundered seven fours and three sixes to get to 180 before K Gowtham ended his stay in the 42nd over, with Rajasthan needing just five to win the game. Lamba sealed the win in the same over, hitting a four to finish on 73 as Karnataka fell short.

وجاءت تلك التعاقدات بعد رغبة مسؤولي الزمالك في تعزيز قائمة الفريق الأول لكرة القدم استعداداً للموسم الجديد.

ذكرت تقارير إعلامية منذ قليل، أن نادي مانشستر سيتي حدد بديل جاك جريليش والذي سوف يغادر صفوف السيتيزن خلال الساعات المقبلة، من أجل اللعب مع نادي إيفرتون.

ونجح نادي إيفرتون في التوصل إلى اتفاق كامل مع مانشستر سيتي بشأن التعاقد مع جريليش، على سبيل الإعارة حتى نهاية هذا الموسم.

وأكد صحفي شبكة “سكاي سبورتس”، فابريزيو رومانو، أن نادي مانشستر سيتي قد حدد رودريجو، نجم نادي ريال مدريد، كخيار محتمل لتدعيم مركز الجناح خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وأضاف رومانو في حديثه، أن مانشستر سيتي يدرس فكرة ضم رودريجو في ظل اقتراب رحيل سافينيو وكذلك جيمس مكاتي عن صفوف الفريق خلال الميركاتو الصيفي.

وأوضح الصحفي الإيطالي، أن مهمة مانشستر سيتي نحو ضم رودريجو لن تكون سهلة، خصوصًا وأن ريال مدريد سوف يطلب حوالي 100 مليون يورو للتخلي عن الدولي البرازيلي.

رودريجو تعتبر فرصته صعبة في اللعب بشكل أساسي مع ريال مدريد الموسم المقبل، خصوصًا مع تواجد فينيسيوس جونيور بجانب كيليان مبابي، وكذلك اللاعب الشاب الواعد جونزالو جارسيا.

كما تعاقد ريال مدريد مع فرانكو ماستانتونو قادمًا من صفوف ريفر بلايت لتدعيم مركز الجناح الأيمن، مما يجعل فرصة رودريجو صعبة في حجز مكان أساسي له مع اللوس بلانكوس.

Thunder are hopeful that Warner will be available for their final three regular-season matches, with games against Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades to follow the Sydney Smash.Warner’s current two-year deal with Thunder concludes this season, but prior to his final Test he said he was keen to continue in the tournament next season if it can fit around his new commentary role.”I definitely am keen to pursue playing Big Bash next year,” he said. “There’s going to be conversations behind the scenes to allow me to do that. Obviously, I’ve joined the Fox commentary team next year during the Test series against India, which I’m looking forward to.”There’s a BBL window that we’re able to play…so I would like to play that in and around the commentary stuff. وبدأ مانشستر سيتي مشواره في الموسم الجديد من بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي، يوم السبت الماضي، حيث حقق فوزًا على ولفرهامبتون بأربعة أهداف دون رد.

وشارك عمر مرموش، كبديل في تلك المباراة، حيث دفع به المدرب بيب جوارديولا في الدقيقة 66 بعد خروج جيريمي دوكو.

وقال مرموش، في تصريحات نشرها الموقع الرسمي للنادي: “المنافسة مهمة للغاية بالنسبة لنا جميعًا، إنها صحية، مهما كان من يلعب، فإننا نريد بالطبع نجاح الفريق”.

وأضاف: “إذا دخلت من مقاعد البدلاء، فأنت تبذل قصارى جهدك، هذا يرفع مستوى الفريق بشكل كبير في الجلسات التدريبية، نعلم دائمًا أن هناك لاعبًا ينتظر مكانه (في التشكيل)، هذا يدفعك للأفضل، إنه أمر صحي”.

وتعاقد مانشستر سيتي مع كل من تيجاني ريندرز، ريان آيت نوري، ريان شرقي، جيمس ترافورد وماركوس بيتينيلي، في موسم الانتقالات الصيفي الحالي.

وعن ذلك، قال مرموش: “لقد لاحظنا قدراتهم منذ اليوم الأول في التدريبات، آيت نوري جيد للغاية في التعامل مع الكرة وقوي للغاية دفاعيًا، تيجاني ريندرز لاعب وسط يتحرك من منطقة الجزاء إلى الأخرى (بوكس تو بوكس)، له تأثير كبير على الجانب الهجومي”.

ويتطلع مرموش إلى مباراة مانشستر سيتي وتوتنهام، اليوم السبت، مع العلم أن آخر ظهور لـ مرموش على ملعب “الاتحاد” سجل خلاله هدفًا صاروخيًا ضد بورنموث، والذي توج بجائزة هدف الموسم الماضي.

وأفاد: “نشعر بالسعادة، كانت جلسات التدريب جيدة للغاية، أتطلع بشوق، أنا متحمس جدًا، من الرائع أن أكون على ملعبي ونلعب على أرضنا، آمل أن تكون مباراة جيدة، لقد شاهدنا إمكاناتهم، غيروا الفريق والمدرب”.

واسترسل: “ستكون مباراة صعبة، لكنني واثق جدًا من أنه إذا أظهرنا إمكاناتنا على أرض الملعب، فسيكون من الصعب جدًا هزيمتنا”.

New Zealand’s win over Pakistan in the third T20I has raised familiar questions around Pakistan’s approach to T20 cricket, with Babar Azam defending Pakistan’s batting performance and rejecting suggestion that a middle-overs slowdown played a part in his side’s defeat. This, even as Shadab Khan stressed that T20s needed “impactful innings” – something Pakistan lacked on the day.Pakistan posted 178 on what Babar acknowledged at the toss was an excellent pitch for batting, but New Zealand demonstrated what was possible on such a surface, cantering to a seven-wicket win with ten balls to spare thanks to an unbeaten 87 off 42 balls from Mark Chapman.”We did well with the bat,” Babar said at the post-match presentation. “I don’t think it [the slowdown] made much of a difference because we had caught up in the end. You can say we were ten runs short. Unfortunately, we had a bit of a setback with [Mohammad] Rizwan’s injury because it wasn’t easy for new batters. But Shadab recovered well and had an outstanding partnership with Irfan [Khan]. In Pindi, 180-190 is a par score.”The passage of play in question came immediately after the powerplay, not for the first time.While Saim Ayub got Pakistan off to a fast start with a 22-ball 32, he was dismissed just after the powerplay, which ended with Pakistan scoring 54. That brought Babar and Rizwan together, a pair whose consistency in accumulating runs has never been in question, even if the intent has.Pakistan managed just 51 runs in the next seven overs as New Zealand applied the brakes. Collectively, Babar and Rizwan scored 59 runs in 50 balls. Babar was dismissed in the 11th over. Rizwan retired hurt with a hamstring injury in the 13th.Shadab and Irfan’s fireworks helped Pakistan score 75 in the last seven as they got close to the score Babar said Pakistan were originally targeting.However, when the Rawalpindi pitch has been at its best of late, 180-190 hasn’t truly been a par score. The six completed T20Is at the venue over the years (all since 2020) have all been won by the chasing side, including last year when Pakistan posted 193, only for Chapman, last night’s hero too, to thwart them with an unbeaten 57-ball 104. And in the PSL, of the ten times the side batting first has won in Rawalpindi, only twice did they post a lower score than Pakistan’s 178 last night.Pakistan head coach Azhar Mahmood appeared to acknowledge this in a more direct way than his captain. “We were 15 to 20 runs short,” he said. “We started very well, our score in the first six overs was 54, which is very good. In the end, Shadab’s innings was excellent. In the middle period, we were slow. “These are the things we have to learn to improve. But you have to pay credit to the way Chapman played. He has made the upper-middle order his own with Islamabad United, but said he was happy to be moved around as and when required. Most significantly, though, the vice-captain looked to draw a distinction between a big innings and a consequential one.”I have played one-down and two-down in the PSL and that’s where I think I am most comfortable. But I’m also fine with being used as a floater,” he said. “If I get a chance, the planning will be the same – I’m the sort of player who will look to make quick runs.”Sometimes, you need impactful innings, especially in T20 cricket nowadays. Making runs consistently in T20 cricket isn’t difficult, but playing impactful innings is difficult.”
